My First Cruise on Virgin Voyages
When I stepped aboard Valiant Lady for Virgin Voyages Fire and Sunset Cruise last December, I knew this wasn't going to be your average sailing - and it absolutely wasn't. From the moment we were welcomed with chilled bubbly and DJ beats in the terminal, it was clear: Virgin Voyages is cruising, reimagined.
What makes Virgin Voyages Different? First, this is an adults-onlyexperience with an unapologetically bold, elevated, and cheeky vibe. FOrget everything you thought you knew about cruising - theres no buffet, no main dining room and definetely no kids.
Instead Virgin packs in jaw dropping inclusions that most cruise lines charge extra forimmersive entertainment not your average cruise line shows. We're talking edgy cabaret drag brunches, acrobatic thrillers and performances that litterally pull you into the action. Dining is all included you have multiple choices from Korean BBQ, a vegetarian - forward spot ny Michelin star chef, and elevated Mexican street food Every venue is chic creative abd delicious. Make sure and go to the Test Kitchen too! It's was one of my favorite dinners! Wellness meets fun with sunrise yoga to group fitness sessions, the outdoor gym, running track, and spa make staying healthy on vacation actually enjoyable. There is no nickle and diming tips, WIFI, group workouts and dining is all included.
Two events totally won me over: Scarlet Night - picture this the entire ship glowing red passengers dressed in their boldest scarlet attire, stilt walkers, secret pop-up performances, and an epic dance party that spills into every corner of the ship icluding the pool! The second event to win me over was the PJ party at the manor, this was so much fun. Everyon dressed in pajamas dancing the night away in the club. It felt like a adult slumber party and a stylish underground club.
One of my favorite hangouts was the The Soocial Club and Sports Bar a surprisingly elevated twist on your typical sports lounge. Flat screens streamed major games, while you could dig into gourmet popcorn, pretzel bites or a adult milkshake. The vibe was casual yet cool and it was the perfect spot to catch up with fellow sailors between activitie.
And lets talk about the ea terrace with a hammock - yes, every balcony comes with its own red hammock. I relaxed -read a book and yes took a nap! Also champage delivery via the app! Its a Game changer!
Our stop at Virgin's exclusive Beach Cub at Bimini, a private resort escape in the Bahamas was one of the best port visits! We spent the day lounging in a ocean front cabana, floating in the crystal clear lagoon-style pool, sipping sangaria and fresh cocktails from swinging beach chairs, and enjoying grilled bites. By afternoon, the music turned up and the vibe shifted into full beach party mode. It was the ideal blend of relaxation and celebration and 100% instagram worthy!
Virgin Voyages calls its guest "sailors" and from start to finish, I felt lik one - confident, carefree, and completely spoiled. This wasn't just a cruise. It was a floating boutique resort with a wild side made for adults who more than a vacation.
