The Ultimate Sandals & Beaches Packing List!
Pack Like a Pro: The Ultimate Sandals & Beaches Checklist for 2026
You've booked the flight, picked the prfect suite, and the countdown is on. But before you zip up that suitecase, there are a few "hidden" essentials you need to know about. After years of visiting these resorts, I've refined the list of what you actually need and what you should definitely leave at home.
The "Evening Elegance" Must-Haves
Sandals and Beaches resorts are famous for their relaxed "Resort Casual" days, but many of the best restaurants require "Resort Evening" attire for dinner.
For the Gentlemen: You must pack at least one pair of long pants (Khakis or nice jeans are fine) and closed toe shoes (loafers or deck shoes). Most fine-dining spots will not seat men in shorts and flip flops.
For the Ladies: Sundresses, rompers or nice slacks are perfect. While heels look great, I recommend dressy flats or wedges, walking on those romantic wooden boardwalks or sand dusted paths in stilettos is a challenge!
The "Hidden" Beach Essentials
Insulated Tumblers: The standard resort cups are small and the Caribbean sun is hot. Bring your own 20oz insulated tumbler to keep your "Bob Marley" cocktail or ice-cold water frozen for hours.
Towel clips: It can get breezy on the beach! Clips keep your towel from blowing away whil your in the water.
Reef-Safe Sunscreen: In 2026, protecting the cirak us more important than ever. Plus, buying sunscreen at the resort giftshop is notoriously expensive, pack more than you think you will need!

The "Arrival Day" Carry On
Rooms are often not ready until 3:00pm, but the bar and pool are open the second you arrive! Pack a small carry on with:
- Your swimsuit and a cover up
- High-SPF sunscreen and sunglasses
- Any essential medications
- A change of clothes for dinner (just in case your luggage takes a little longer to arrive).
Special Items for Familes (Beaches Resorts)
- Water Shoes: Some beach areas have rocks or coral fragments. Protct those little feet.
- UV Rash Guards: Save yourself the "Sunscreen struggle" by using long-sleeve rash guards for the kids.
- Small Inflatables: While the waterparks have plenty of tubes, a small personal floatie is great for the calmer ocean area
What to LEAVE at Home
- Beach Towels: Both Sandals and Beaches provide unlimited, fluffy towels at the pools and beach. Save the suitecase space!
- Expensive Jewlery: You'll be in the sand and salt water. Leave the heirlooms at the home and stick to fun, coastal costume jewlery.
- Hair Dryers: Every room is equipped with a high-quality dryer.
